Selected music and sound from games, interactive projects and brand work.
01Game MusicOriginal scores and interactive music systems for games.
Scores written to be played, not just heard: themes that hold up on the hundredth loop, adaptive layers that follow the player, and music delivered ready to drop into the engine.
Recent credits include Game of Thrones: Dragonfire and DC Worlds Collide (Warner Bros. Games), Age of Empires II: Battle for Greece (Microsoft / World’s Edge), and Niantic’s Peridot and NBA All-World. Interactive music is a specialty: Michael wrote the book on it, Writing Interactive Music for Video Games: A Composer’s Guide (Addison-Wesley, 2014), a GANG Award finalist for Best Publication.

Projects span console, mobile, PC and VR, including Peridot (iOS, Android and Meta Quest), Killer Queen Black (Switch and Steam), and the PlayStation titles The Night Journey and Walden A Game, named Game of the Year at the Games for Change Festival.

03Sonic BrandingSonic logos, brand themes and sound systems for products.
A brand’s sound, from a two-second mnemonic to a full system of product sounds and music guidelines, designed to stay recognizable across every touchpoint.
As co-founder of Audiobrain (2000–2008), Michael led a studio whose credits include the Xbox 360 sonic logo and audio UI system, along with work for IBM, MTV, VH1, Cartoon Network, Lego and Yahoo. Earlier, at Blister Media and Elias Arts, brand and broadcast clients included HBO Zone, CNN, Kodak, American Express and NBC’s Olympic Games coverage.
